The Role of the Ombudsman (appointed yearly)

The Ombudsman is not a member of Executive but is a league member appointed by the President yearly and is responsible for providing impartial assistance between all parties having business with the League.
Should any member of the league feel they have a valid concern or complaint that needs addressing or to be discussed, the Ombudsman can be contacted to provide assistance or guidance.

John has been married to his wife Lynda for 49 years and together they have 2 children and 3 grand children.

Born in Scotland, John threw his first dart at the age of 5, and seventy years later is still throwing! In the 1980's John became involved with the organizational side of darts while playing in the Region of Peel League; Brampton men's League. John headed up the Brampton Youth League for a few years and then became the Vice President of Darts Ontario, responsible for youth development. During this period the program went from only a handful of youth to a few thousand throughout the province and claiming a number of national titles along the way.

When the World Cup was held here in 1989, John hosted several countries including the team from Zimbabwe and was presented with the unique honour of a lifetime membership wtih the National Darts Association of Zimbabwe in appreciation.

After nearly 20 years with the LDMDL and serving as Vice President, Director and now proudly as the League Ombudsman, John was recently awarded a Lifetime Membership.

- Inducted into the National Darts Hall of Fame in 2008
- PDC (Professional Darts Corporation) Official; recently at the North American Championships and the televised World Series of Darts held in Las Vegas in July 2017.
